Leap Day Photo Contest

It's official!  
I'm hosting the First Quad-Annual Leap Day Photo Contest!

I love celebrations, I love random holidays (like Leap Day), I love jumping photos & I love themes.  
So, why not combine all of the above?  That's right, why not?

If you want to join in the fun (and you know you do), there are two different types of photos you can submit: 
1.  A photo of yourself (or of you and some friends, or of your kids, or even a stranger... you get the idea)
 jumping or leaping on Leap Day, February 29, 2012.
2.  And/or dig up a photo from the past of you jumping or one you've taken of others jumping.


The photos will be judged and awards given for the top photo in each of the following categories:
Most Creative
Silliest
Most Challenging
Crowd Favorite 
The most creative, silliest and most challenging will be judged by a panel of photo loving friends of mine.
The crowd favorite will be given to the photos with the most comments on flickr.


To submit a photo, e-mail it to leapdayphotos@yahoo.com by March 2, 2012.  
E-mail a high quality size of the photo along with the following details:  the name you'd like to appear under the photo (it can be your whole name, your first name or a pseudonym - but it will be on a public website) and any description of the photo you'd like to include.

All contest photos submitted will be found here: 

Winners will be announced on flickr site on March 7.


A few tips for your jumping-photo fun:
  • You look like you're jumping higher if your knees are bent!
  • The trick of a good jumping photo is a good photographer capturing the second you're off the ground.  You don't need to jump too high or long, you just need to be off the ground for a moment.
  • Finally, Picnik Photo Editing is a free on-line site where you can edit your photos and do lots of fun things!
