day four

Photo Challenge day four:  a photo of the last place you went on holiday


I love to travel and do so as often as possible.  Most of my travels consist of visiting friends and family across the country or day trips to nearby places, but this past summer I went on a true holiday with three friends on a week long trip to Alaska!!  What an amazing place.  The weather didn't exactly coorperate but it didn't stop us from exploring both land and sea of the Kenai peninsula.  We saw mountains, glaciers, moose, bald eagles, killer whales, rivers, old friends from college and even a little bit of sunshine.  We didn't see any bears (much to Denise's dismay).  We went on a glacier cruise, hiked to the top of a mountain and Denise & I ran a half-marathon.  It was a perfect holiday.  I'm extremely thankful for the opportunity to experience the "last frontier" and to have such lovely travel companions.

Alaska was the
50th state
I've visited.

How fun to achieve
this accomplishment
before my 40th birthday.

A blessed girl am I.
