A couple days away and challenge to love

I've been away from my blog for a couple of days... my posts from Thursday and Friday were sitting in my box waiting to be edited and am finally finding time to do so. Then I headed to Philly for the weekend and didn't have access to the internet. So, I'm a few lenton reflections behind. I'll still make the 40 days, though -- just with a few days off in between. This time of reflection on my past has been good for me... although as the days go on it's harder for me to dig deep into the reflections. It's easy to scratch the surface -- but I want to go beyond the surface!


In the midst of these reflections I've been reading a book alongside a group of students. The book is about moving from a place of judging those around me to a place of love. The concept seems simple enough but as I strive to capture all my thoughts I realize how far I have to go!


This weekend I went to church at Liberti South Philly and the pastor talked about repentence and Isaiah 55. These words spoke to me:
"Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and your soul will delight in the richest fare."


I feel as if I'm moving deeper and deeper into a place of peacefulness even if my circumstances seem to get less peaceful. It's a good place to be.
